Veterans Day gives us (Americans) the opportunity to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all U.S. Veterans. In fact, Veterans Day was formerly known as “Armistice Day”, was originally set as a legal holiday to honor the end of World War I, which ended on November 11, 1918. There was a brief period where the holiday was actually not recognized in November, but when President Gerald R. Ford was in office, he signed a law that brought the holiday back to November 11. It has been at this date since then!

We have put together a few local events you can attend in the Inland Empire. The dates for parades and festivals vary, especially since the actual day falls on a Sunday. However, If the Nov. 11 holiday falls on a non-workday (Saturday or Sunday), the holiday is observed by the federal government on Monday (which is November 12 this year).

Let us know which one you are attending!
