The most well-known benefit is no down payment — and yes, that’s real. Qualified veterans can purchase a home without putting a single dollar down, which is a significant advantage in a market like Riverside County where median home prices have remained well above $500,000.

But the benefits go further than that. VA loans also eliminate the need for private mortgage insurance (PMI), which conventional borrowers typically pay monthly until they’ve built enough equity. Over the life of a loan, that adds up to thousands of dollars. Add in consistently competitive interest rates, and the VA loan program is built to put more money back in your pocket long-term.

✅ Benefits Most Veterans Don’t Know They Have

You can use your VA loan more than once. VA loan entitlement is reusable — once you pay off a previous VA loan or sell the home, your full entitlement is typically restored.
